Rarotonga can be as busy or relaxed as you want it to be.  Here are some of our personally favourite top things to do.

Raro Quad Tours

Explore roads less traveled and drive your very own quad.....

Snorkel, Kayak & SUP

When in Rarotonga, go to the best snorkeling spots around the Island - Muri Beach, Nikao Beach, Aroa Beach & Titikaveka Beach all have fantastic beaches to snorkel, kayak or stand up paddle board.  Muri Beach Club Hotel and Captain Tamas hire out snorkel gear - enquire directly as may vary depending on the time of year.  In Muri there are offshore islands called 'MOTU's' which you can swim, snorkel or kayak to - imagine it is like your own private island - great for relaxing or exploring

Polynesian Island Night

What Cook Islanders are most proud about is their culture - experience the ultimate island night with Polynesian Food & Dance at the Silversands Restaurant located at the Muri Beach Club Hotel.  Great value at $59pp  Top performers, in fact one of the best dance troupes on the island Akirata Performing Arts Troupe are an excellent show with AMAZING costume.  As a bonus there is also a fantastic fire dance show.  The buffet feast features island delicasies such as Ika Mata (raw fish with lime and coconut cream), Rukau (island spinach cooked in coconut cream) Poke (a sweet doughy dish made from coconut and banana) as well as seafood and non seafood options - the best part is that 90% of the buffet is gluten free!  Phone: 23000 to book or email: in advance to secure your spot

Say I DO in Paradise

Working with the 2016/17 Destination Wedding Planner Winners in Rarotonga makes our job of recommending a breeze.  Email: for a brochure or more information.  Wedding Packages start from $1199 for just two persons and they also have all inclusive packages for $6999 for up to 30 x persons and this also includes a room for the Bride and Groom for 5 nights.  As the Muri Beach Club Hotel is an adult only hotel, we are able to offer accommodation to the wedding party that are not able to be accommodated.

Punanga Nui Market

The market comes to life on a Saturday with arts, crafts, fresh fruit and vegetables, and food galore cooked to your liking.  Available from 7am-12noon, and if you are lucky there is normally a performance around 10am.  For those not here on a Saturday, there are night markets in Muri, although please note these are mainly food based, where as the Avarua one is on a much larger scale.  Please note that town does close early on a Saturday, but the supermarkets are open until 4pm.  The market is approximately a 20minute walk from the villa and buses are available if need be

Crossed Island Walk

This is a walk you can do on your own or with a guide, although we recommend with a guide as transport on both ends are pre arranged and you get to learn about the flora and fauna of the island with spectacular views at certain points.  This requires a reasonable fitness and will take approximately 3 - 3.5 hours.  There is also a nature walk that is a lot less streneous.  The tracks marked off on the map may be over grown, so please inform someone if you are indeed venturing off on the unknown.  Also it is recommended to take mosquito repellant as well as a bottle of water and a snack.  Long sleave may be a good idea to keep the bugs at bay.

Wild Life Centre

Ever wondered about the worlds largest mammals?  The whale and wildlife centre allows you to experience marine life without getting wet.  Catch a bit to eat while you are there.

Raro Buggy Tours

One of Rarotonga's most popular tours where you will get either muddy or dirty at one point or another.  You can only imagine where this tour takes you.  A great way to explore roads less travelled, great tour guides and a fantastic 'light lunch' which is definately island style in size.  Things to bring are sunglasses, towel, camera, license,

A bonus is that these buggy tours can take 2 persons at a time including children.  Phone 23000 to book

Koka Lagoon Cruise

Koka Lagoon cruise is rated number 1 on trip advisor and for good reason.  Entertaining, fun and enjoyable, transfers and lunch included.  Great snorkeling, but also good for the novices as the boys are there to assist if need be.  A fantastic family day out and apart from snorkeling, there is a coconut tree climbing show, onboard string band entertainment, glass bottom views and a delicious fish BBQ.  Phone 27769 and 55769 to book

Aitutaki Day Trip

If you can afford it, do it!  Renowned Aitutaki has the most glorious lagoon, a 45 minute flight from Rarotonga, and includes your airport transfers, flights, lagoon cruise, lunch and island tour.

Take your passport and get your 'one foot island' stamp put on.

Story Teller Eco Cycle Tours

The name speaks for itself - bycycle tours with stories along the way.  This tour caters to those young and old with 3 different level of tour and a percentage of their profits go back into caring for the enviornment.  See how the locals live and emmerse yourself into their way of life.

Reef Sub

A great way to see and esperience the wonders of the ocean and beyond without getting wet.  Weather dependant, bookings are essential.  If you are lucky you will see whales from June - October

Night Sup

If you thought SUP was fun during the day, night SUP takes it to a whole new level.  Out some the crustations and other marine life that sleep during the day and come out at night.  Really well organised and great tour guides.  Transport can be arranged if need be, and these tours depart from Muri Beach Club Hotel or Sails Restaurant, and if you are lucky you will also have the dog accompany you
